'Da Vinci Code' deserves kudos for being a smart thriller in an era of dumb movies
I have to say, the Da Vinci Code was pretty good. I know there are changes from the book, and things have to be cut from the movie, but on the whole I thought it was fast paced and just really captured my attention. Getting to see places where I had been before and learning some of its history really makes me wish I could go back there tomorrow. I thought all the actors did a good job, and it didn't slow down too much. I am excited to listen to the soundtrack again, knowing now what each piece belongs to in the movie. I recommend going into this movie with those critics reviews in mind (they all said it was horrible, yada yada yada) and you will see that they were wrong. I don't think it is an oscar sweeping picture, but nonetheless is a very entertaining movie. I really like movies that make you think, and this is one of those movies. I know X-men 3 is coming out next week, which I really haven't followed, but I am starting to get more excited about it. I think I might watch the first two movies with my roomies this week to get caught up, and then go see it in theaters. The trailers for it actually look pretty good, though we will just have to wait and see. Well I am off to bed, but maybe I will write some more later today. Oh and if you want to read the PI's review of the Da Vinci Code, here is the link. Til next time :)

Yeah, the movie was definitely fast-paced despite its 2 1/2 hour length. I don't know what all the reviews are complaining about. The book isn't Pulitzer Prize material, so why should the movie be Oscar-worthy?
